Migration outpatient clinic
Today, there are more than 21 million people with a migrant background living in Germany. They represent around 26% of the population. Language and cultural communication problems make it difficult to access information and prevention measures, result in imprecise or erroneous anamnesis and diagnoses, or lead to problems in therapy. Therefore, people with a migrant background and mental illness often need a specialized form of treatment that is tailored to you both linguistically and culture-specifically.
We, the kbo Lech-Mangfall-Klinik Garmisch-Partenkirchen, offer a point of contact for people with a migrant background and mental illnesses. The migration outpatient clinic is integrated in the psychiatric outpatient clinic (PIA) of the hospital. To improve diagnostics and therapy, we offer multilingual and culture-sensitive care. Our multi-professional approach to treatment includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, creative therapists and nurses.
We can carry out diagnostics, counseling and therapeutic dialogues in German, English, French, Turkish and Italian. For other languages such as Arabic; Dari, Farsi, Urdu, Russian and others we use an established interpreting service.
Who is right with us?
All people with a migration background who suffer from a mental illness. In addition to outpatient clarification and therapy, we also offer (semi-) inpatient treatments. The costs are covered by health insurance companies or social welfare providers.
What happens in our outpatient clinic?
After an introductory conversation, there is a language and culture-specific diagnosis and possible forms of therapy are worked out together, for example psychological support, drug treatment and the use of complementary services and therapies.
How and where can I register?
We ask you to make an appointment in advance, if possible by telephone or via our e-mail address and to present the health card (Gesundheitskarte) or the outpatient treatment certificate.
